Given:

Cost price of bed cover = Rs. 650/-

Cost price of free pillow cover = Rs. 50/-

Profit gain by shopkeeper = 20%

To Find:

Bed cover cost for shopkeeper

Solution:

Now according to question:

Pillow cover is free with bedcover so price of pillow cover will not be included.

So

120% = 650 ( Price for kavita )

Actual price for shopkeeper will be 100% as 20% is profit.

Therefore,

120% = 650

120/100 = 650

Multiplying 100 on both sides

100/100 × 120 = 650 × 100

100% × 120 = 65000

100% = 65000/120

100% = 541.66

Hence, bedcover cost Rs. 541.66/- for shopkeeper.

Answer:

⌯ Kavita bought Bed Cover for Rs. 650

⌯ She got free Pillow Cover of Rs. 50

The Shopkeeper made a profit of 20% on this Transaction. So In this complete transaction he must have covered Pillow Cover Price on Bed Cover already, hence he gave it for free. Hence Selling Price for Shopkeeper :

⇢ SP = Bed Cover - Pillow Cover

⇢ SP = Rs. 650 - Rs. 50

⇢ SP = Rs. 600

Now he made 20% profit on this Transaction

Let the Cost Price be 100%

According to the Question Now :

⇒ (CP + Profit)% ≡ SP

⇒ (100 + 20)% ≡ Rs. 600

⇒ 120% = Rs. 600

  • Dividing both by 6

⇒ 20% = Rs. 100

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀───────────────

Cost Price for Shopkeeper :

⟶ CP = 100%

⟶ CP = 120% - 20%

⟶ CP = Rs. 600 - Rs. 100

CP = Rs. 500

Bed cover cost Rs. 500 for Shopkeeper.
