Given : Plot the points ( 0,-3) , ( 3,1) and ( 6,-3 ).

To Find : what type of triangle is Formed by joining them in pairs.

Solution:

A = ( 0 , -3)

B = ( 3 ,1 )

C = ( 6 , - 3)

Length of AB = √(3 - 0)² + (1 - (-3))²  = √3² + 4²

= √9 + 16

= √25

= 5

Length of AC = √(6 - 0)² + (-3- (-3))²  = √6² + 0²

= √6²

=6

Length of BC = √(6 - 3)² + (-3- 1)²  = √3² + (-4)²

= √9 + 16

= √25

= 5

AB = BC = 5

AC = 6

Isosceles triangle is formed
