Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of present ages of amar and samar= 4:3

so, let present age of amar= 4x

present age of samar= 3x

after six years.......

age of amar= 4x+6

age of samar= 3x+6

ratio of their ages after 6 years= 7:6= 7/6

so, 4x+6/3x+6= 7/6

by cross multiplying and solving above linear equation...

6(4x+6)= 7(3x+6)

24x+36= 21x+42

taking x terms to LHS side and constants to RHS side.....

24x-21x= 42-36

so, 3x= 6

x=6/3=2

so, x=2

present age of amar= 4x= 4(2)= 8yrs

present age of samar= 3x= 3(2)= 6yrs

hence, present ages of amar and samar= 8yrs, 6yrs
