9. Ranjan walks around a rectangular park of length 60 m and breadth 40 m and Smita walks
around a square park of side 55 m. Both take 3 rounds each. Who walks more distance and
by how much?​

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( l + b )

= 2 × ( 60+40 )

= 2×100

= 200 m

Number of rounds = 3

Distance covered = 200 × 3 = 600m.

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

= 4×45 = 220m.

Distance covered = 220 × 3 = 660m.

Since 600 < 660

Smita covered greater distance .
