9 th and 10 th sum please solve by methods

for question 9:
let the granddaughter's age be x
then grandfather's age is 10x
but, grandfather is 54 years older to her i.e. (x+54)
therefore, 10x=x+54
                10x-x=54
                9x=54
therefore, x=6
therefore the grandaughter is 6 yrs old and her grandfather is 60 yrs old(10*6)

for question 10:
let the son'spresent age be x
so father age=3x

10 yrs ago-
son age= x-10
father age=3x-10
but father age is 5 time son age i.e. 5(x-10)
 so, 3x-10=5(x-10)
       3x-10= 5x-50
       -10+50=5x-3x
        +40=2x
therefore, x=20

so son's present age is 20 yrs anfd father's present age is 60 yrs...
