9. The carpet for a room 6.6 m by 5.6 m costs Rs 3960 and it was made from a roll 70 cm wide.
Find the cost of the carpet per metre.

carpet area = 6.6×5.6 =36.96m^2

and the cost is given for 36.96 m^2 = 3960

then, cost of carpet per m^2 = 3960/36.96 =107.14

now ,

the area of 70cm carpet for 1m long

= 0.7×1= 0.7m^2

hence,

the cost of carpet per meter = 0.7×107.14=Rs 75
