\bf{\underline{Given}}:-

  • The length of rectangular plot of land is twice its breadth

  • If the perimeter of the plot be 180 m

To find :-

  • Area of rectangular plot

Solution :-

Let the breadth of plot be x m

and its length be 2x metres

Now,

Perimeter = 2 (l + b)

Perimeter = 2 (2x + x)

perimeter = 2 × 3x

Perimeter = 6x

According to the question,

6x = 180

x = 180/6

x = 30 m

Now,

we have,

  • Breadth = x = 30 m

  • Length = 2x = 2 × 30 = 60 m

Area of the plot = l × b

Area of the plot = 60 × 30

Area of the plot = 1800 m²
