Answer:

perimeter of square=4×side

40cm=4×side

10cm= side

area of square=side²

=10×10

=100cm²

area of rectangle=area of square

l×b=side²

20cm×b=100cm²

b=5cm

Answer:

Given:

▪︎Area of square = Area of rectangle

▪︎Perimeter of square = 40cm

▪︎Length of rectangle = 20cm

To Find:

▪︎Side of square

▪︎Breadth of Rectangle

Solution:

➡️Side of square

= Perimeter ÷ 4

= 40 ÷ 4

= 10 cm.

➡️According to given conditions;

Area of square = Area of rectangle

= Side² = length × breadth

= 10² = 20 × breadth

= 100 = 20 × breadth

= breadth = 100÷20

Hence, breadth of rectangle = 5 cm.

Formula to be remembered:

▪︎Area of rectangle = length × breadth

▪︎Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

▪︎Area of square = Side²

▪︎Perimeter of square = 4× Side
