To Find:-

  • Find the sides of the triangle.

Solution:-

Let length of each equal side = x

length of base = x + 11

Perimeter = 50cm

x + x + x + 11 = 50

3x + 11 = 50

3x = 50 - 11

x = 39/3

x = 13

So,

The base is x + 11 = 13 + 11

The base of triangle = 24

AnSwer -:

The two equal sides of triangle are

13 cm

And ,

Third side or base of triangle is 24 cm

_______________________________

Explanation-:

Perimeter of an isosceles triangle-:

“P = a + a + b”

P = Perimeter

A = equal sides of triangle

B = third side of triangle

_______________________________

Given,

Perimeter of triangle-: 50 cm

Third side is 11 cm longer than the other

side.

To find ,

Three sides of triangle.

_____________________________

Let the two equal sides of triangle be a.

Now ,

The base of triangle is -: a + 11

Now ,

Perimeter of triangle-:

“P = a + a + b”

P = Perimeter = 50 cm

A = equal sides of triangle = a

B = base of triangle = a + 11

Now ,

a + a + a + 11 = 50

a + a + a = 50 - 11

a + a + a =39

3a = 39

a = 39 /3

a = 13

Now ,

The two equal sides of triangle are

-: a -: 13

Third side or base of triangle-: a + 11

13 + 11

= 24 cm

Hence ,

The two equal sides of triangle are

13 cm

And ,

Third side or base of triangle is 24 cm
