The present age of son is half the present age of his father.

Let the present age of the father be 2x.

Therefore present age of the son = 2x/2 = x years

According to the question,

10 years ago, father's age was thrice as old as his son.

➡ 3(x - 10) = 2x - 10

➡ 3x - 30 = 2x - 10

➡ 3x - 2x = -10 + 30

➡ x = 20

Hence their present ages are :-

Father's present age = 2x = 40 years

His son's present age = x = 20 years

Answer:

9)The present age of son is half the present age of his father.

Let the present age of the father be 2x.

Therefore present age of the son = 2x/2 = x years

ATQ,

10 years ago, father's age was thrice as old as his son.

➡ 3(x - 10) = 2x - 10

➡ 3x - 30 = 2x - 10

➡ 3x - 2x = -10 + 30

➡ x = 20

Hence their present ages are :-

Father's present age = 2x = 40 years

His son's present age = x = 20 years

2)

perimeter=55

Let x be the third side of triangle

therefore other two sides=2x-5

Perimeter=x+2x-5+2x-5

55=5x-10

55+10=5x

5x=65

x=65/5

x=13

Therefore the sides of the triangle are 13m, 21m, 21m
