Answer: 4:9

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Area of square with 4cm sides= 4cm square

                                                      = 16cm

Area of square with 6cm sides= 6cm square

                                                  = 36cm

Ratio of their area= 16:36

= simplify the number with 4

                             = 4:9 (ans)

b) Perimeter of square with 4cm sides= 4 X 4

                                                               = 16cm

Perimeter of square with 6cm sides= 6 X 6

                                                           = 24cm

Ratio of their perimeter= 16:24

= simplify the number with 4

= 4:6 (as it goes again, we will simplify the number                                                             with 2)

                                      = 2:3 (ans)
