9. Two water taps together can fill a tank in 9 hours. The tap of larger diameter takes 10
hours less than the smaller one to fill the tank separately. Find the time in which each tap
can separately fill the tank.​

Answer:

let the smaller tap fill the tank in X hours

therefore the larger tap will fill the tank in x -10 hours

the smaller tap will fill the part of the time in 1 hour =1/x

part of the tongue large attack will fill in 1 hour=1/x-10hrs

part of the tank filled by boat tips in 1 hour =1/x+1/-10=75

ATQ

75/8 (1/X+1/X-10)=1

DIVIDING 75/8

1/X+1/X-10=8/75

2X-10/X (X-10)=8/75

CROSS MULTIPLY IT YOU WILL GET equation

factorise it using splitting the middle term

use quadratic formula you will get the answer
