When an act of surviving is considered as the act of being intact is opposite to leaving ; we find that they are opposite terms . But is used for joining opposite ideal sentences .Hence it's justified to use BUT .

• He was incharge of the next journey and he proved it .

The person who was the incharge of the trip must prove himself and proving as well as incharge are related terms. So we are justified to use AND .
