and age of mother be 5x

as per question,

sum of their age is 48

so, age of varun+age of his mother=48

that means,

x+5x=48

6x=48

x=48/6

x=8

hence age of varun is 8 year

and age of mother is 5×8=40

10.let the first consecutive number be x

second consecutive number be x+1

third consecutive number be x+2

according to question,

sum of three consecutive number is 24

therefore,

x+(x+1)+(x+2)=24

3x+3=24

3x=24-3

3x=21

x=21/3

x=7

hence first number is 7

second number is 8

and third number is 9

11.let the age of Nisha be x

age of mother be 3x

as per question,

the of of nisha and her mother together is 72

therefore,

x+3x=72

4x=72

x=72/4
