p-1=> p=1

Put the value p = 1 in the given equation

p 2 − 6 p + 7

p ( 1 ) ⇒ ( 1 ) 2 − 6 ( 1 ) + 7

p ( 1 ) ⇒ 1 − 6 + 7 = 2

So, 2 should be subtracted from the given equation to make it divisible by ( p − 1 ) .
