Given:

A sum of money lent out at 2.5% per annum for 3 years would produce Rs 37.50 as interest

To find:

The sum of money

Solution:

Let "P" represents the sum of money.

The rate of interest, R = 2.5% p.a.

The no. of years, T = 3 years

We know,

\boxed{\bold{Simple\:Interest = \frac{PRT}{100} }}

Now, on substituting the given values in the formula of simple interest above, we get

37.50 = \frac{P \times 2.5 \times 3 }{100}

\implies 37.50 \times 100 = P \times 7.5

\implies P = \frac{37.50 \times 100}{7.5}

\implies P = Rs.\:500

Thus, the sum of money lent out at 2.5% per annum for 3 years would produce Rs 37.50 as interest is → Rs. 500.
