9.Mukesh's dream is to become a motor -mechanic.

It is no doubt difficult for Mukesh to achieve his dream, as he is torn between his desires and his family tradition, which he cannot escape. Besides, he has to face a number of obstacles in the form of sahukhars, middle men , bureaucrats, lawmakers , politicians etc.

10.Ragpicker, or chiffonnier, is a term for someone who makes a living by rummaging through refuse in the streets to collect material for salvage. Most of the impoverished children busy in rag picking were not wearing footwear. The boys were barefoot as it was a tradition to remain barefoot.It had become their habit not to wear chappals. But according to the writer it was their excuse to conceal their poverty.
