because nomination is only when a candidate gets nominated but the results aren't final till then and so that candidate doesn't gets any power and when elected is done , a candidate is finally elected which is for final and electing the candidate is the last step and when we vote for the candidate we want to elect , the candidate with maximum number of votes get elected and thus , that candidate gets all the power now
