9. Why is CNG preferred over LPG, petrol or diesel?​

CNG is preferred over petrol(gasoline) or diesel because it produces harmless gases as compared to petrol(gasoline) or diesel to the environment . Therefore CNG is preferred over petrol (gasoline) or petrol. CNG) and liquified petroleum gas (LPG) as fuels are: (i) They can be burnt directly.

• CNG or Compressed Natural Gas is considered to be the purest and cleanest of all fuels compared to other hydrocarbons.
• CNG is known to be non-toxic in water and doesn't deteriorate the ground water quality.
• Unlike petrol and diesel, CNG burns very efficiently and doesn't leaves behind any residue.
• CNG is known to be safest of all other fuels as it can't be taken off by thieves.
• It's adulteration can't be done.
• It's cost-effective too.
