According to me,

The colour of leaf when kept in dark room it changes to yellow more than pale green because in dark room no sunglight enters the room due to which leaf uses all its starch due to this colour of leaf changes to yellow.

And mostly more stable pigment is green pigement because in plants most essential nutrients produces are at this part.
