hey here is you answer
=======================
let , a=(x-⅓x)
then,

9(x-⅓x)²+9(x-⅓x)-4 = 0
9a²+9a-4 = 0
9a²+12a-3a-4 = 0
3a(3a+4)-1(3a+4) = 0
(3a-1)(3a+4) = 0
a = 1/3 , -4/3
Now,
a=(x-⅓x)
a= 1/3x²

now comparing the value of "a" we get:

a = 1/3 = -4/3 = 1/3x²
1/3 = 1/3x², -4/3 = 1/3x²
x = 1 , x =  \sqrt{ - 4}
since x =  \sqrt{ - 4} is not possible x = 1 is the answer
