Step-by-step explanation:

man is walking at a speed of 10 km/hr. After every km, he takes a rest for 5 minutes. How much time will he take to cover a distance of 5 km?

[A]40 minutes

[B]50 minutes

[C]60 minutes

[D]70 minutes

50 minutes

Time taken in covering 5 km

That person will take rest for four times.

∴ Required time = (30 + 4  5) minutes = 50 minutes.

Hence option [B] is correct answer.

GIVEN:--

Speed of the man = 10 km/hr

TO FIND:--

Time he will take to cover 5km.

Now,

Time he will take to cover 5 km because he is walking with the speed of 10 km/hr

If he stops for 5 minutes every 1 km

Then,

For 5 km he will stop 5 times for 4 minutes.

so,

5 × 4 = 20

Now, therefore he will take 30 + 20

50(ans)
