Heya....✋
Difference between Progressive wave and Standing wave⤵
⏩There are many points on a standing wave which are always at rest(called nodes) but there are no such points on a progressive wave.
⏩Each point on a standing wave(between two nodes) have different amplitudes but each point on a progressive wave have same amplitude.
⏩Every point on a standing wave are in same phase but in a travelling wave the nearby points are not in phase.
⏩The energy propagates in a travelling wave while the energy seems to be confined between two nodes in a standing wave.
⏩Ina standing wave all the points crosses their mean position(or extreme position) at the same time while ina travelling wave such case is not possible.
Hope it helps✅
