Answer:

The number of cells will be present after 1 hour in culture medium is 32\ \times 10^6

Explanation:

Bacterial cells divide through binary fission or budding.

The number of bacteria present in the culture medium at the beginning was 5\times 10^5.

It is given that, this bacteria divides in every 10 minutes.

So, after 10 minutes, the number of bacteria will be 2\times 5\times 10^5 .

And in 1 hour (60 minutes), the culture will contain 6^{th} generation of bacteria.

Therefore, the number of bacteria in the culture after 1 hour will be,

                   2^6\times 5\times 10^5  =64\times 5\times 10^5

                                        =320\times 10^5

                                        =32\times 10^6
