Solution:

Let say Length of the garden is  L m

Perimeter = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

= 2 ( L + 79)  m

Cost of fencing per m is 6

Hence total cost of fencing =  6 x 2 ( L + 79)  

= 12 ( L + 79)

12 ( L + 79) = 2244

=> L + 79 = 187

=> L = 108

Area = Length * breadth

= 108 x 79

=  8,532  m²
