Convert both of the numbers to the same unit of measurement. Since we are trying to avoid decimal, we shall convert both numbers to pence, which is the smaller form of units of both.

£3.00 = 300p

Form the ratio:

Ratio = 95p : 300p

Ratio = 95 : 300

Simplify the ratio by dividing both sides by 5:

Ratio = 95 ÷ 5 : 300 : 5

Ratio  = 19 : 60
