``````98 POINTS QUESTION``````
If you are trying to push a heavy box on a horizontal surface list various forces acting on the box. State the condition under which this box will start siding on the surface. How will the magnitude of applied force required to move the box change it.
i) weight of the box is increased.
ii) the surface on which the box is played is made more rough?
When a block is placed on a surface
then gravitational force attract it towards downward which is balanced by normal
The force applied by us is also acting on the box which is countered by static friction of the surface
1) when weight of box is increased its normal reaction also increases which is directly proportional to static friction do friction on the block increases
2) when surface is made rough this means cofficient of static friction is increased which also increases the frictional force
hope it helps :)
hey mate,,,
here's ur answer.....
potential energy and gravitation, static forces act on it if static force is more, than the opposing force, then with less energy you can push the box....
Yes, weight is increased...
if made more rough frictional energy increases and then more energy is required ,
thus pulling would be more easier than pushing....
hope it is helpful....
