99. (a) What is the cause of dispersion?
(b) A glass prism is able to produce a spectrum when white light passes through
it but a rectangular block of same transparent glass does not produce any
spectrum. Why?​

a - the light ray of different colours , travel with the same speed in vacuum and air but in any other medium they travel with different speeds and bend through different angles which leads to the dispersion of light

b - Issac Newton was the first one to use a glass prism to obtain the spectrum of light because the light is not come in prism they not change into colour
