suppose they asked you to attempt one question out of two questions, then they are going to check only the answer written first by you in your answer sheet. they are not going to evaluate your second question.
if some how you are not getting passing marks or you are failing at margin line, then they can check your second question and higher one is taken into consideration but its totally upto your examiner and his/her kindness.
they will not even fail you at margin line, so don't worry. most of the examiners try their best to make you pass(it doesn't mean that they are going to correct your wrong question because sometimes rechecking of your answer sheet by any other authority can create problem for them).
