Given,

Capacity of the cuboidal water tank = 50,000 Litre

We know,

1000 Litre = 1m³

50,000 Litres = 50000/1000 m³= 50m³

Volume = 50m³

Length (l) = 2.5m

Height (or depth) (h)= 10m

Let the breadth be ' b '

Volume = l × b × h

50 = 25/10 × b × 10

\frac{50 \times 10}{25 \times 10} = b25×1050×10=b

b = 2

Thus,

the breadth of the tank is 2m

Question :-

The Capacity of a Cuboidal Tank is 50,000 Litres of Water.

Find the Breadth of the Tank if its Length and Depth are respectively 2.5 m and 10 m.

Solution :-

Given, Volume (V) of the Cuboidal Tank = 50,000 Litres (50 m³)

\begin {aligned} \Big ( \bold {1,000\: Litres} & = \bold {1\: m^3}\\\\\therefore \red {\bold {50,000\: Litres}} & = \frac{50,\cancel {000}}{1,\cancel {000}} = \red {\bold {50\: m^3}} \Big ) \end {aligned}

Length (l) = 2.5 m ; Depth (h) = 10 m ;

To Find, The Breadth (b) of the Cuboidal Tank

\begin {aligned}  \red {\bold {Volume\: of\: the\: Cuboid}} & = \red {\bold {Length \times Breadth \times Height}}\\\\50\: m^3 & = 2.5 \times b \times 10\\\\\red {\bold b} & = \frac{50}{2.5 \times 10} = \frac{50}{25} = \red {\bold {2\: m}} \end {aligned}

Hence, The Breadth of the Cuboidal Tank = 2 m
