Answer :

u = 3/11 , v = 71/33

Solution :

Here ,

The given system of linear equations is ;

9u - 3v = -4 --------(1)

2u + 3v = 7 --------(2)

Now ,

Adding eq-(1) and (2) , we get ;

=> 9u - 3v + 2u + 3v = -4 + 7

=> 11u = 3

=> u = 3/11

Now ,

Putting u = 3/11 in eq-(2) , we get ;

=> 2u + 3v = 7

=> 2•(3/11) + 3v = 7

=> 6/11 + 3v = 7

=> 3v = 7 - 6/11

=> 3v = (77 - 6)/11

=> 3v = 71/11

=> v = 71/(11•3)

=> v = 71/33

Hence ,

u = 3/11 , v = 71/33

Question :

  • 9u - 3v = -4
  • 2u + 3v = 7

Answer :

Given that :

Two equations are given below.

  • 9u - 3v = -4
  • 2u + 3v = 7

To find :

The values of u and v.

  • Value of u
  • Value of v

Solution :

  • Value of u = 3/11
  • Value of v = 71/33

What does the question says ?

  • This question says that there are 2 equations given like 9u - 3v = -4 and 2u + 3v = 7. Afterwards it ask us to find the value of u and v. And the biggest thing is that we have already know that this question is from a very interesting chapter of mathematics that is "Linear equations and variables".

Let's see the procedure now :

  • To solve this question we have to write these equations as Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 1 and Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 2. Afterthat adding Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 1 and Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 2 we get 3/11 as the value of u. Afterwards substituting the value of u in Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 2 we get 71/33 as the value of v.

Full solution :

Two equations are given below.

  • 9u - 3v = -4 ...... Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 1
  • 2u + 3v = 7 ...... Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 2

Now, adding Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 1 and Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 2.

  • 9u - 3v + 2u + 3v = -4 + 7
  • 9u + 2u -3v +3v = +3
  • 11u = 3
  • u = 3/11

Hence, the value of u is 3/11

Now, putting the value of u in Eǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ 2.

  • 2u+ 3v = 7
  • 2 × (3/11) + 3v = 7
  • 6/11 + 3v = 7
  • 3v = 7-6/11
  • 3v = (77-6)/11
  • 3v = 71/11
  • 71/(11×3)
  • 71/33

Hence, the value of v is 71/33
