9x-4=2x+10

1} Add  4 to both sides of the equation

9 − 4 = 2 + 1 0

9 − 4 + 4 = 2x+ 1 0 + 4

2} Simplify

Add the numbers

9 = 2 + 1 4

3} Subtract  2  from both sides of the equation

9 = 2 + 1 4

9 − 2 = 2 + 1 4 − 2

4} Simplify

Combine like terms

7 = 1 4

5} Divide both sides of the equation by the same term

7 = 1 4

7 /7 = 1 4/ 7

6} Simplify

Cancel terms that are in both the numerator and denominator

Divide the numbers

= 2
