Answer:

hope this helps u :-)

Step-by-step explanation:

9y²-20

3²y² -  20  = 0

Factoring:  9y²-20

Theory : A difference of two perfect squares,  A²- B² can be factored into  (A+B) * (A-B)

9y²-20 = 0

Add  20  to both sides of the equation :

                     9y²= 20

Divide both sides of the equation by 9:

                    y²= 20/9 = 2.222

When two things are equal, their square roots are equal. Taking the square root of the two sides of the equation we get:

                     y  =  ± √ 20/9

The equation has two real solutions

These solutions are  y = ±√ 2.222 = ± 1.49071

y = ±√ 2.222 = ± 1.49071
