9yrs ago the age of 2 brother were in ratio 2:3 and 6 years hence their age will be in ratio 7:8. Find their present age.

Before 9 yrs

let the age of 1 brother equal 2x

age of 2 brother equal 3x

After 6 yrs

age of 1 equal 2x+6

Age of 2 equal 3x+6

According To The Question

2x+6÷3x+6 equals 7÷8

7(3x+6) equals 8(2x+6)

After solving the equation we will get

x equals 6÷5 or 1 is to 1 by 5.

Hence present age of 1 is (2×6 by 5)+6

And present age of 2 is (3×6 by 5)+6
