A 0.3H inductor 60micro farad capacitor & a 50ohm resistor are connected in series with a 120V , 60hz supply . Calculate (1) Impedance of the circuit & current flowing in the circuit.

Impedance of LCR series circuit : R + (j ωL + (iωC)⁻¹ )
Z = R + j [ωL - 1/ωC]
ω=2π*f, X_L = 2π*60 *0.3= 36π Ohms,
R = 50 Ohms, X_C = 1/(120π*60*10⁻⁶) Ohms
Impedance = | Z | = √[R² + (X_L - X_C)²] = 85.12 Ohms
current flowing (RMS) = 120V/85.12 ohms = 1.41 Amps
