v is the velocity when it hits the ground, the average velocity is v/2.
Velocity increases by an amount g in every second
Time to attain the velocity v is therefore v/g.
Distance traveled is average velocity*time
Hence 5m = (v/2)*(v/g)
Using g = 10 m/s^2 , find v.
v = 10m/s.
