Solution :-

Mass of ball = 0.5kg

Initial speed = 12 m/s

Angle with wall = 30°

(Therefore angle with horizontal line will be 60°)

Time of contact = 0.25s

To find : Force acting on the wall.

As per newton's second law of motion force is measured as the rate of change of linear momentum.

So first we have to find linear momentum of ball.

★ Initial momentum :

→ p = mu cos60°

→ p = 0.5 × 12 × 1/2

→ p = 3 N s

Similarly final momentum of ball will be -3 N s. Here negative sign shows opposite direction.

Now, F = dp/dt

→ F = [3 - (-3)]/0.25

→ F = 6/0.25

F = 24 N
