Answer:

Given data:

L_{1} = 1.0 m

R_{1} = 40 Ω

L_{2} = 2.0 m

R_{2} = ?

For stretched wire, we have

R_{2} = n^{2} R_{1}

Since    L_{2} = 2 L_{1}     i.e. length increases 2 times

So     R_{2} = 2^{2} (40)

              = 4 (40) = 160 Ω
