Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A = {1,3,5}

B = {2,3}

To find :-

Find A× B and B×A

Check Whether A×B = B×A

Solution :-

Given sets are :

A = {1,3,5}

B = {2,3}

A×B = {1,3,5}×{2,3}

=> A×B = {(1,2),(1,3),(3,2),(3,3),(5,2),(5,3)} --------(1)

and

B×A = {2,3}×{1,3,5}

=> B×A ={(2,1),(2,3),(2,5),(3,1),(3,3),(3,5)} ----------(2)

From (1) &(2)

A×B and B×A are not equal.

A×B ≠ B×A

Answer:-

A×B = {(1,2),(1,3),(3,2),(3,3),(5,2),(5,3)}

B×A = {(2,1),(2,3),(2,5),(3,1),(3,3),(3,5)}

A×B ≠ B×A

Used formulae:-

  • If A and B are two non-empty sets then The set of order pairs in which the first element belongs to A and the second element belongs to B is called The Cartesian product of the two sets and it is denoted by A×B
  • A×B ={(a,b),a€A,b€B}
  • A×B ≠ B×A
  • Because The order pairs in A×B are not equal to order pairs of B×A.
  • (a,b) ≠ (b,a)
