A 1.5 m wide footpath runs all along the fence outside a park 40m long and 30 m wide. what is the perimeter of the fence and what is the area of the footpath ?

here's ur answer...

given the length of the park is 40m and breadth of the park is 30m.

area of the park = l×b

= 40×30

= 1200m²

if the 1.5m path runs outside the park all around, then the length of the path parallel to the length of the park will be = 40+1.5+1.5

= 40+3

= 43m

length of the parallel to the breadth of the park will be = 30+1.5+1.5

= 30+3

= 33m

area of the park along with the path = l×b

= 43×33

= 1419m²

now, area of the path = 1419-1200

= 219m²

perimeter of the fence = 2(l+b)

= 2(40+30)

= 2×70

= 140m

hence the perimeter of the fence is 140m
