a+1/a²-(a²+1/a²-2)

= a-a²+2

=-a²+a+2

=-a²+2a-a+2

=(a+1)(2-a)

if the question was (a+1/a)² - (a-1/a)²

then answer = 4

Answer:

a + {( \frac{1}{a} )}^{2} - {(a - \frac{1}{a} )}^{2} \\ = a + \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } - ( {a}^{2} + \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } - 2 \times a \times \frac{1}{a} ) \\ = a + \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } - {a}^{2} - \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } + 2 ) \\ = a - {a}^{2} + 2 \\ or \\ = { - a}^{2} + a + 2

hope it helps you
