a+ 1/a = 8. Ford a2+ 1/a2​

According to question,

a + 1/ a = 8

find a2 + 1/a2

Now ,

a +  \frac{1}{a }  = 8

squaring both side ,

(a +  \frac{1}{a}) ^{2}   =  {8}^{2}

here we will use the formula of,

(a + b {})^{2}  =  {a}^{2} + 2ab +  {b}^{2}

Now ,

 {a}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} }  + 2.a. \frac{1}{a}  = 64

 {a}^{2} +  \frac{1}{a {}^{2} }  = 64 - 2

 {a}^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } = 62

Squaring Both Side

\large\Rightarrow \tt {(a +  \frac{1}{a}) }^{2}  =  {8}^{2}

\large\Rightarrow \tt{ {a}^{2} +  { \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} }}   + 2 \times a \times  \frac{1}{a} } =( 8 \times 8)

\large\Rightarrow \tt{ {a}^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } = 64 - 2  }

\huge\Rightarrow \tt{ {a}^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} } = 62  }
