Urbanisation is the natural phenomenon of people immigrating from one town to the other over range period of time. The town or village becomes a mega city.In India, there are more than million people in urban areas. Due to rapid development in the country the industrial and political centres become urbanised.
Urbanisation is good for the economy in some senses because it increases the economy. There is more employment, standard of earning increase, the birth rate, death rate and fertility rates are less in urban areas. Urban areas also have better medical facilities. The fertility decreases because of the tensions and pressure the people face.
In urban areas people live with better sanitation, water, electricity, schools and hospitals. Urbanisation also makes completion among people. However, rapid growth of population cause congestion and pollution.
Nowadays, more than 4 million people in the world live in urban areas. In 1950s less than a million lived in cities. Let us hope that the present and future authorities take care of this expansion.
