Solution

Given

  • f = 30 cm
  • u = -20 cm

Find :-

  • distance of image from focal length (v)
  • Nature of image

Explanation

Using Formula

\dag\boxed{\underline{\tt{\orange{\:\dfrac{1}{f}\:=\:\dfrac{1}{v}-\dfrac{1}{u}}}}}

Now, keep above Values

==> 1/30 = 1/v - 1/(-20)

==> 1/v = 1/30 -1/20

==> 1/v = (20-30)/600

==> 1/v = -10/600

==> 1/v = -1/60

==> v = - 60 cm

Since,

  • Distance of image from focal length be = 60 cm

Nature of image

Here, Distance sign of image is Negative,

That's means it is on same side on lens as the object and it is a real image.
