A 10 H.P. motor pumps out water from a well of depth 20m
and fills a water tank of volume 22380 litres at a height of 10m
from the ground. The running time of the motor to fill the
empty water tank is (g=10ms)

Answer:

15 minutes

Explanation:

10H.P = 7460W

so,

P=7460W

Volume  i.e mass = 2238 lit

depth (h1) = 20m and height (h2) = 10m

g = 10ms

t = ?

so,

P = mg(h1+h2)/t

7460 = (22380)(10)(20+10) / t

t = (22380)(300) / 7460

t = 900

t = 900 / 60 i.e 15

t = 15 minutes
