according law if conservation of energy kinetic energy at ground level = potential energy at highest level

so

mgh = m {v}^{2} \frac{1}{2}

so 5×5×10\2=125 joules

for(b) use

 {v}^{2}  -  {u}^{2}  = 2as

so 0-25 =2 ×-10×s ( considering downward direction to be negative)

then s= 1.25 metres
