A 10 meter long wire has 20ohm resistance . it is cut in 40 pieces equally. then all the pieces connected in parallel. what is equivalent resistance offered by all the pieces.

Since, wire is cut in 40 equal pieces, therefore each piece corresponds to a length of 10/40m=0.25m

=> 0.25m-> (20/10*0.25)ohm=0.5 ohm

So, 40 resistors of resistance=0.5 ohm in parallel

=> Req.=0.5/40=1/80 ohm
