Given:

Resistance, r = 10 ohm

Voltage, v = 2V

Time, t = 1 minute

To Find:

Heat generated, h

Solution:

The formula for heat generated in the wire is,

h =  {i}^{2} rt

i =  \frac{v}{r}

i =  \frac{2}{10}

i =  \frac{1}{5}

i = 0.2 A

t = 1 minute = 60 seconds.

h =  {(0.2)}^{2} (10)(60)

h = 0.04 × 10 × 60

h = 4 × 6

h = 24 J. (Option 3)

The amount of heat generated in the wire in 1 minute is 24 J (Option 3).
