Given:

KVA_{1} (initial rating) = 100KVA_{1}

initial frequency(f1) = 60Hz

initial voltage(V1) = 240V

final frequency(f2) = 50Hz

final voltage(V2) = 200V

To Find:

new rating(KVA_{2})=?

Solution:

we know that the operating constraint for the working of a transformer is

\dfrac{V1}{f1} = \dfrac{V2}{f2}

\dfrac{KVA1}{f1} = \dfrac{KVA2}{f2}

KVA = \dfrac{KVA1 \times f2}{f1}

= \dfrac{100 \times 10^{3}\times 50 }{60}

= 83.33 KVA

Thus, the new rating is 83.33 KVA
