Answer :-

Length of road can be dug by 12 men in 15 days is 6 m.

Solution :-

Let the required length that is to be dug be 'x' metres

We know that

If more number of men are and more number of days then more length of road the road can be dug.

So, Number of men and days and length of the road that can be dug are diretly proportional i.e, in proportion

⇒ (18 * 20) : (12 * 15) : : 12 : x

We know that

Product of extremes = Product of means

⇒ (18 * 20) * x = 12 * 15 * 12

⇒ x = (12 * 15 * 12)/(18 * 20)

⇒ x = (2 * 3 * 12)/(3 * 4)

⇒ x = (6 * 12)/12

⇒ x = 6

Therefore length of road can be dug by 12 men in 15 days is 6 m.
